Professor R.O. Arise attended the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, Kwara State for his B.Sc. (Biochemistry), M.Sc. (Biochemistry) and Ph.D. in Enzymology and Biochemical Toxicology. He joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 2003 and rose through the rank to become a Professor in October, 2019. He has served as the Head, Medical Biochemistry, College of Health Sciences (2011 to 2014) and Head, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Life Sciences (2014-2017). Prof. Rotimi Arise is a Certified Molecular Biologist (New England Biolabs, USA). His team research focus is on projects involving drug developments for some non-communicable diseases. His laboratory also carries out proteomic profiling for the identification of some therapeutic peptides and investigation of the kinetics and interactive roles of some natural and derivatized ligands on the activities of some enzymes and their efficacy and safety evaluations towards finding solutions to some chronic diseases and environmental health challenges.
