Biography

Sylvia Omonirume Malomo is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Ilorin. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Ibadan (1985) and joined the services of the university in November 1984. She was Head of Department of Biochemistry (2002-2005), Dean, Faculty of Science (2010-20120) and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics (2018-2022). Her area of specialisation is Membrane Biochemistry, Enzymology and Toxicology. Her current area of research is Enzymology with focus on application of DNAzymes and other enzymes industrially. She has successfully supervised 12 Ph.Ds. She is currently supervising 6 Ph.Ds.  She was appointed a full Professor in 2003. She has over 100 publications in reputable outlets. She has also received training in the conduct of programme and institutional accreditation.
